During spring break of 2006, I decided to try my chance at the Bookstore's Photo contest called "Swarthmore Takes a Break" in which you were required to take a photograph of the Bookstore's plastic bag doing something or being somewhere or engaging in some creative activity of some sort. It left much up to the challenger, and so I decided I'd go ahead and make myself a cardboard man, like the man running towards the door in exit signs, and have him carry the bag and take a picture. Here's a bit of how things went:
Layout and setting up the cardboard man on the floor of my dorm.
Making sure everything is well adjusted to the tape.
Putting masking tape around for decoration and rigidity.
Testing how well he stands inside my messy room.
Location 1: Philly side of tracks. Not such a good idea.
Location 2: Opposite side of tracks, not bad, but not such great lighting. At least I can catch the train though.
Location 3: SEPTA R3 train station. Nice weather worked towards getting this pic a nice lighting. The wind kept toppling the man over, so by the end his feet were somewhat warped. This was the winning entry.
